Poland – Place and Journey. 2010
Poland, a short intensive trip leaving traces of a harsh land on the soles of my shoes as well as on my troubled soul.
A search for walls cracked long ago, for all that was left of ghetto houses, signs and memories that are actual and analogical as well as genetic and newborn. A search for secrets that still flood the is and the is not.
I photograph incessantly, completely focused, carried away by the memories waiting for the realization of the unconscious.
And a surprising revelation on my return home.
The journey – images of different landscapes, painterly and so lyrical, innocently denying while appearing to be hiding all the demons and spirits beneath the amorphous texture.
This is not what I had expected.
The voyage left deep within me a bubble of time place and journey, with the then and now intermingling and clashing together in an infinite turbulence.
